Gastronomy

Girona and the Costa Brava are among the world’s leading gastronomy and wine tourism destinations. With their combination of sea and countryside, their gastronomy is a way of life.

In the province of Girona we can find 16 restaurants with a total of 21 Michelin stars, including the world famous Celler de Can Roca.

Wine-tourism

The DO Empordà wine route will allow you to discover a local tradition that can be traced back to Roman times.

In the Costa Brava area there are numerous wineries where you can discover the secrets of wine making, taste wines and enjoy many other activities.

Girona

The capital of the province, Girona, is about 30 km from the Costa Brava and is unusual in that four rivers run through the city: the Ter, the Güell, the Galligants and the Onyar.

The historic centre, often referred to as the Barri Vell, is well worth a visit. Monuments of special interest include the cathedral, which has the widest Gothic nave in the world, the walk along the city walls, the Jewish quarter, one of the best preserved in Spain, and the brightly coloured houses on the banks of the Onyar.

The Dalí Triangle

The famous Dalí triangle will enable you to learn about the life and work of Salvador Dalí, the painter from l’Empordà. The route comprises visits to the Dalí Theatre-Museum in Figueres, the Salvador Dalí House-Museum in Portlligat and, finally, the Gala Dalí Castle House-Museum in Púbol.
