There are beaches of all kinds for all tastes, according to the activities you have planned. It doesn’t matter if you go with your family, as a couple or with friends; whether you are looking for an easily accessible beach with a full range of services or a quiet bay where you can get away from everything.
Here are our Top 5 iconic beaches:
1 Platja d’Illa Roja (Begur)
2 Platja del Castell (Palamós)
3 Cala Cap Roig (Calonge – Directly accessible from the Park Hotel San Jorge)
4 Cala d’Aiguablava
5 Belladona (Platja d’Aro – Directly accessible from the Park Hotel San Jorge)
Hiking and the coast paths
The camí de ronda is a series of walking routes that run along the Costa Brava from Blanes to Portbou, giving amazing views of the deep blue sea and green pine trees.
You can access the camí de ronda directly from the Park Hotel San Jorge, taking the Sant Antoni de Calonge – Palamós route or heading for Platja d’Aro and S’Agaró.
This is an unmissable experience that will show you the real essence of the Costa Brava.
Girona and the Costa Brava are among the world’s leading gastronomy and wine tourism destinations. With their combination of sea and countryside, their gastronomy is a way of life.
In the province of Girona we can find 16 restaurants with a total of 21 Michelin stars, including the world famous Celler de Can Roca.
The capital of the province, Girona, is about 30 km from the Costa Brava and is unusual in that four rivers run through the city: the Ter, the Güell, the Galligants and the Onyar.
The historic centre, often referred to as the Barri Vell, is well worth a visit. Monuments of special interest include the cathedral, which has the widest Gothic nave in the world, the walk along the city walls, the Jewish quarter, one of the best preserved in Spain, and the brightly coloured houses on the banks of the Onyar.
The Dalí Triangle
The famous Dalí triangle will enable you to learn about the life and work of Salvador Dalí, the painter from l’Empordà. The route comprises visits to the Dalí Theatre-Museum in Figueres, the Salvador Dalí House-Museum in Portlligat and, finally, the Gala Dalí Castle House-Museum in Púbol.
